Hmmm. I think free makes a lot more sense than subscription, for the consumer anyway!

Destroy the entire internet (in terms of it being a two-way medium) to protect potential add profits of a few corporate asshats?
Fuck Viacom. These greedy grubby corporate bastards needs to accept the new reality in which they live. People will not continue to exchange a finite good (money) for an infinite good (digital media). They have been replaced by a DSL line. Who needs middle men distributors siphoning wealth off of artists? Consumers do not - they just drive up prices. Artist do not - they just decrease their profits. Yet governments world wide are bending over backward to save defunct industries.

"Google will have to turn over every record of every video watched by YouTube users, including users' names and IP addresses, to Viacom, which is suing Google for allowing clips of its copyright videos to appear on YouTube, a judge ruled Wednesday.
Viacom wants the data to prove that infringing material is more popular than user-created videos, which could be used to increase Google's liability if it is found guilty of contributory infringement.
Viacom filed suit against Google in March 2007, seeking more than $1 billion in damages for allowing users to upload clips of Viacom's copyright material. Google argues that the law provides a safe harbor for online services so long as they comply with copyright takedown requests."

This is a fun little tool. It blocks known bad ip's/ranges - basically using peerguardian lists. You can block any ip/range of your choosing - including entire countries.

"In 1953, Dr. David I. Macht, a Johns Hopkins University researcher, performed experiments on many different kinds of animals and fish, and concluded that the concentration of zoological toxins of the "unclean" animals was higher than that of the "clean" animals, and that the correlation with the description in Leviticus was 100%.
